Sago Palms and your pet

The center cone of the Sago Palm is highly poisonous to dogs. If you or a neighbor cut down a Sago Palm or if your pet is sniffing near one. Clean up the mess, keep your dogs away from it, there is nothing a vet can do. They will pass away in just a few hours.     !!!!! HIGHLY TOXIC !!!!!

Banana & Peanut Butter Treats ( Or Almond Butter)

1 cup oats

1 egg

3 tbsp peanut butter, natural

1 banana, mashed

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine.

Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes so that the oats can soak up some of the moisture.

Drop by tablespoon sized scoops onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, a baking liner, or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. 

Press them down with a spoon or a fork to flatten a little. 

You can use a cookie cutter to shape them.

Bake at 350°F for 12 - 15 minutes. Cookies will be done when the oats are slightly browned and the cookies are slightly firm

Anti-Inflammatory Dog Biscuit Recipe


3 cups instant quick oats

1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds

½ teaspoon turmeric

Pinch black pepper

¾ cup water

1 large egg


Preheat oven to 350ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together.

Add water and egg.

Mix ingredients together until thoroughly combined with a spoon. Then, with your hands, knead dough. This dough will feel very wet and sticky. Let it sit on the counter for 15 minutes, allowing the oats to soak up the water and egg.

Sandwich doughball in between two pieces of parchment paper. With a rolling pin, roll dough to about 1/4" thick. Stamp with cookie cutters and place biscuits on the baking sheet.

Use a cookie cutter to stamp out biscuits and place each treat on a lined baking sheet.

Bake at 350ºF for about 30 minutes, or until cooked through.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool.


Store in an airtight container for up to a week on the counter, two weeks in the refrigerator, or three months in the freezer.

Doggie Breath Mints Recipe


2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup parsley fresh, finely chopped

1/2 cup mint fresh, finely chopped

1 egg large

1/4 cup water plus 1 tablespoon - to help form the dough

3 tablespoons coconut oil melted -unrefined extra virgin is best


Preheat the oven to 325° F

Add oats to a blender and pulse to a flour-like consistency. 

In a large bowl whisk together diced parsley and mint, egg, water, and oil. Add oat flour and stir to combine. Knead the dough a few times then turn out onto a lightly floured surface.

Using your hands or a rolling pin, flatten the dough to about 1/8" thick. Using a cookie cutter or knife cut out approximately 40 (1-inch mints) mints. 

Place mints about 1/4-inch apart on a parchment-lined or non-stick cookie sheet. Bake 35-40 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Allow mints to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.


For dogs with allergies to chicken products, substitute one large egg with 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce.
